7 months old!

Wow, so the growth from 6 to 7 months has been pretty major!  Since my last post, Sofie went through another growth spurt (last week-ish).  Her little feet definitely grew, and she has just grown up (again!). She finally cut her 2 bottom teeth that have been teasing us for months now, poor babes.  Naturally, this happened while Rob was on his "man trip" and lemme tell you; those 3 days were pretty tough and very exhausting (getting up 3-4 times a night).  It was very humbling and made me feel even more thankful that I have such an easy, happy baby 95% of the time.

Not sure how I'll do the comparison collage, so I did both of these as I was playin around.  I can't believe how much she has grown since last month, even.  I didn't get a great pic of her with her teddy bear, because she tried to chew his face off (again).  Poor teething baby girl! Not to mention, she wants to be on the go and was moving around like a crazy nut. Oh me, oh my.  We're in for it!

Our latest project has been converting our spare bedroom into a play room.  She is a fast crawler and doesn't have much room in the tiny 5x5 section I created for her in the living room.  We painted to walls "Sugar Berry", which is a very subtle pink.  Finally invested in a carpet cleaner and did some major cleaning.  It looks awesome!
Top: 5x5 section in the great room area (surrounded by tile, speakers, tv stand, and tv) Bottom: Play room is functional!
My favorite part is here: decoration!  I've decided on an Owl & Friends theme and totally scored at Hobby Lobby.  We also put a shelf/bench by the window that's used for storage and somewhere the adults can sit and hang out.  I see many playdates in our future ;)

She has absolutely loved being in there. I couldn't wait to let her play, so I sat her down even though she was pretty tired (& hungry!) almost immediately, she began to laugh (more of a cackle; yay new sounds) and crawl all over the place.  After awhile, she began to play with a yoga block that we currently use to prop the door open.  Why do kids like to play with things that are not toys?? Haha
She especially likes our iphones and any controller she can get her hands on, haha
What channel is Dora on?!
One of her latest and greatest is pulling herself up.  Most of the time it's to her knees, but when Rob & I are playing with her; she is very excited to pull herself up to her feet. We bought her a walker for the great room, and she absolutely loves running around in the too. Lil Miss On The Go!

No one puts baby in the corner!
As mentioned in the last post, she now wants to sit up in the bathtub.  No more baby bathtub; but her toys float away from her in the big bathtub.  I put her in a laundry basket in the big bathtub and BADA BING BADA BOOM! Haha

I came across this picture of me taking a bath and did my best to recreate it with Sofie, it's crazy how much we look alike as babies.
We were busy little bees last week, but did some fun stuff!  Went to the Phoenix Zoo for the first time with the Ramsey girls.  Luckily, we were able to fit 3 car seats in the truck.  It's so roomy back there!  So I guess we can have 3 kids if we want? Haha, oh Lordy.  The girls had a blast looking at animals and playing in the splash pad.  Sofie is gonna be a little fish this summer, so cuuute!

We also went with Suzie & Lily to check out a free, intro class at "The Little Gym" on Gilbert & Warner. It was pretty cool, but I don't think it's worth the money for little babes like Sof & Lils.  Maybe in a year or 2.

It is hilarious when Sofie gets around Lily, she turns into a little chatterbox and starts to make some noise.  These girls sure like to party! ;)

This weekend we celebrated my 21st---ok, my 28th birfday & Mother's Day, yay!  So crazy to think that exactly a year ago, we revealed that we were having a girl to our friends and family.  I always tell any friend that is preggers that it starts to feel more real when you can name the little miracle inside your belly.  It gets super fun after you know the gender! I had a wonderful time celebrating with Rob on my actual birfday night.  We went to Cantina Laredo, just the 3 of us.  They just brighten up my life!
Friday night, my mom was kind enough to babysit so Rob & I could have a night out with friends.  I didn't do a great job of planning, since I haven't really been that interested in my bday this year (weird, right?!)  So we ended up at The Living Room, which is a wine lounge and then went to Grimaldi's for some grub after.  I had a great time drinkin some good wine, eating some good italian food, and hanging out with some great company. I dropped the ball on taking pics, but managed to get these ones.

I also decided to combine my bday/Mother's Day celebration with both sides of the family.  So blessed that our families were able to make it to the festivities and also see how big Sofie has gotten.  She is growing up in the blink of an eye!  A huge thank you to those of you who contributed food/drinks/dessert and especially to my Dad, Javy, and Rob for grilling some delish carne asada and mixing some yummy margaritas!

Mother's Day made me feel grateful for so much more in my life.  It made me realize that all the "special" things that most men do on a day like Mother's Day for their women, is a common theme around my house.  I'm so lucky to have a husband that is my partner in crime.  He cooks, cleans, wants to spend time with me, is active in taking care of Sofie, and pampers me throughout the whole year.  How did I get so lucky? Plus, like my dad would say; I am a mother thanks to Rob! Haha

Mommy dearest & I!

Here are some random pics that I just want to post, hehe.
Spending time with Riley

Looking at herself in the vanity mirror that Auntie Shay shay bought her for Christmas! She likes to look at herself and giggle, it's the cutest!

Lovin those walks!

Happiest morning baby, everrrr!

Daddy's girl! xoxo

Mmm, dinner is better when it's all over!

It's been crazy around here, just busy with one thing after the other. Things to look forward to: Tempe Tri next weekend, family reunion, book club, and our 2nd trip to Rocky Point. Oh and how could I forget: Monica and the boys will be here next month, yay!  Can't wait to have my bestest back in AZ.  Lord knows we need some BFF/wine time, we're each other's therapists....haha.

Post partum Lex:  Still losing my hair, boo.  Been off the bandwagon with working out, since I have been obsessed with finishing the play room and other events going on.  (excuses, excuses!)  I really miss being in shape, but realized I tend to put myself on the back burner a lot lately.  That's no bueno.  Gotta make sure I take care of myself (so much easier said, than done). Oh, and Aunt Flo decided to come back into my life.  Happy Mother's Day to me! Haha

Ok, munchkin woke up from her late afternoon nap.

Until next time!
