Sleeping patterns, bowel movements and eating habits.

Oh my! Haha.  I just realized that these are the 3 main things I catch myself talking about with Rob.

Rob- "Hey babe, how was Sofie today?"
Lex- "Oh, y'know.  She had a blowout this morning and got poop on her new outfit, she likes to play with her hair while she eats, and she only took 3 naps that totaled to 2 hours.  How was work?"

C'est la vie. And I wouldn't have it any other way!  It's so weird how I can't imagine life without our precious girl.  Just in the last few weeks, I feel like she has blossomed into this bubbly, smiley creature.  Even when she has bag under eyes from exhaustion, you can still get her to smile and giggle at you.  So amazing.  She really is coming into her own.

Her independence has flourished, and she just loves to play!  I can get through a workout, do some chores, or just relax while she grabs, pulls and swats at her toys on her gym.  Today she rolled over from back to belly for the 1st time! I missed it, but Rob got to watch the whole thing.  I was so happy he got to experience that. I'll hafta try and catch it on video one of these days.

I've been putting her in her bumbo daily, and she loves it!  She can officially hold her head up by herself, makes it so much easier to carry her around or have her sit with you.

La la love the bumbo! And it's also worth investing in the tray (sold separately).   Miss Independent just loves to play with her toys and try and put them in her mouth.  I wonder if this means she will cut her first tooth soon, yikes! I'm kinda enjoying this happy-no-more-colic phase, so I will enjoy it as much as possible.

As mentioned in my previous post, baby girl went through a growth spurt and has stopped the "I wanna play for an hour and a half at 3-4 am" nonsense, thank goodness.  I've also started to put her down later, and it has been really awesome.  I still "cluster-feed" at night, but am not as strict about it being every hour.  I really think it helps!  Now she will go to bed closer to 830-9 and still sleep 8-10 hours straight. I really think she is starting to create her own habits now, and i love it.  She takes a few catnaps during the day. 30-40 minutes every 2-3 hours, and will take a longer nap in the late afternoon. I love that she is a morning person like Rob & I (though, we haven't always been, hehe)

Lately, I've reading to Sofie before bed and she loves it! I think she is gonna be a bookworm like her mama ;)
After a few nights of consistently reading to her before bed, she started to turn the page by herself (no joke!)  At first she went the wrong way, from left to right...but then slowly, but surely, she caught on and went from right to left. She's so dang smart!

Happy thing to report! I don't remember if I shared this on my blog, but Sofie hasn't really liked being in her carseat lately (like the last month and a half) and that phase has ended. Phew!  She still has her moments, but I think they are justified (ie hungry, tired)  Look at my happy girl!

Mmk, I think those are all the new things she has been doing/enjoying lately.  I wanna document all of these milestones and happy memories.  I can't believe our baby girl is growing up right before our eyes! It's so crazy!

Here are my 2 ladies enjoying an awesome day outside, it rained the night before.  I love rainy days in AZ!

Aaaaaand here is an adorable picture of a playdate we had with Tanicka and her gorgeous daughter, London
They are 2 weeks a part and it has been so nice being able to get advice, share stories, and just relate to Tanicka.  We helped eachother get through our rough pregnancies during 120 degree AZ Summer heat, and I appreciate being able to talk about the challenges and blessings the first 3-4 months with a new baby can bring.

Postpartum Lex update:  My weight loss has hit a plateau in the last month, I've lost 36 out of the 58 lbs gained.  I didn't do a great job of tracking inches, but I definitely see and feel a huge difference there.  Just means I have built a lot of muscle back up, which is awesome. I don't like feeling like a weakling.  I'm loving the extra energy I've gotten back since I've been consistently working out.  Feels good to get back into a healthy lifestyle.

I've got 2 weeks until Grand Cayman and plan on doing the Turbo Fire 5 day Inferno Plan, boom! We shall see how that goes.  Rob & I also decided to do the Las Palomas Triathlon this year, woo hoo! It's been awhile (4 years) since we went the first time.  Luckily, we can do a relay team for the Sprint distance.  Baby steps to doing my own Triathlon *one day*

Also, we are 2 for 2 on our "date nights".  This month we attended Kristina's Flirty Dirty 30 Bday partay with fellow infusionites.  It was good times with good company, can't ask for more than that :)

Mmk, time to wind down and get to bed soon. It's end of the month in the Hegarty Household!

I will leave you with one of my favorite pics!

Dontcha just wanna squeeze those cheeks? le sigh, I love her!

Besos!

Lex
