Craftastic 101: Year-round Burlap wreath

It's safe to say I'm still a little craft-challenged, but I really enjoy crafting and making cutesy things for the house.  Practice makes perfect right? While Rob was busy helping upgrade the new house, I decided to break my crafting dry spell and make a burlap wreath.  I wanted something I could hang year round (saves $$ and time)

I searched pinterest and found this tutorial.  I headed to Hobby Lobby for my supplies.
-Metal wreath form (I think I got the 20 inch)
-4 inch burlap (I had to go back for more, oops) I think I used about 30-40 feet
-Scissors
-Embellishment
-Metal floral wire to attach embellishments
-Hot glue gun (also for embellishments)
Finished product
I was really excited with how it turned out! I also bought some cute chevron gray burlap and managed to make this bow.  I found an easy tutorial for that here  which I will use in the future. I used my hot glue gun to glue some floral wire to the back of the letter "H" and twisted it around the metal wreath.  Just fluff some of the burlap around to hide the floral wire.  The flowers already came with wire attached to it.
Burlap wreath with embellishments!
I can't wait to find some fun, fall decor and switch out the flowers and bow.  I think I managed to only spend about $20-$25 (had a 40% off coupon) & just saw a burlap wreath yesterday at Michaels for $69.99, yikes!

Cheers to finding awesome DIY projects to make the house look fabulous!

11 months old!

"It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!"  That's what goes through my mind when I think about being a month away from our baby girl's 1st birthday! le sigh, this can't be happening. Ahhh!

The last month has been pure craziness. We are officially moved into our new home, yay!  No more keeping "The Rock" (aka the house we were renting) spotless for showings while trying to pack and take care of an infant amongst a list of other "to-do's". Talk about Stress 101. Wooosahhhhhhh. Thanks to everyone who helped us pack, clean, move, unpack, organize, babysit, etc. Mostly, thanks for dealing with Miss Grumpy-pants: ME! Hahahaha
Held hostage by the cutest, teething baby there is!

Helping mama organize!

Packin' up the play room!

Now I can focus on planning Sofie's birfday party and 1 year pictures, eek!  My bestest, Monica, & I totally scored at Hobby Lobby with stuff to make invitations, decorations, party favors, etc. I love me some crafting (especially with Pinterest to guide me, hehe) And of course we are doing a Sofia the First theme, duh!

I'll be honest, I kinda skimped on the effort to do the monthly pics/board yesterday.  Little Miss was not in the mood for pictures, and most of my extra time has been dedicated to cleaning/organizing.
Miss Grumpy-pants!
Nevertheless, as you can see on the list: Sofia is walking!  Throughout the last month she has become braver with more confidence.  2 weeks ago she started to walk 6-7 steps in a row, and last week she has really taken off.  She mostly crawls to get where she wants to go, but every so often will stand up (not pulling up on anything, strong legs like mama!) and will walk 8-10 steps. We love watching her blossom. Such a proud mama & dada!
{08.26.13} Took 6 steps!

She cut 2 more teeth soon after my last post, and her 2 front teeth grew some too. I'm really not looking forward to molars coming in.  Ouch, that sounds painful!

Even though we have been busy with house stuff, we still managed to have some fun.  Lily came by to play last week and so did Addie & Reagan. Even Jace had fun with his "Sosie".  Yesterday after the library (our first time) London came by to play too! Sofie loves all her little friends.
