"Gratitude is the best attitude." ~Author Unknown

Welp, it's that time again. Looks like Mondays will be the best days to update this blog, even though I turn a new week on Saturdays.  Instead of plopping myself in front of the computer, I'd much rather spend quality time with Rob (and we always have house/baby errands!)

How far along? 25 Weeks
Baby is the size of: an eggplant (13.5 in and 1.5 lbs)
Total weight gain: 25 lbs still
Maternity clothes? yup! they really are more comfy. Rob treated me to a new outfit, bought some comfy black leggings and a new top.
Stretch marks? none as of yet (except I thought I had some when i woke up one day; it was just marks from the sheets, haha)
Sleep: Still sleeping great. 2 nights ago I had to eat 2 granola bars to quiet my always hungry tummy.
Best moment this week: Doc appt went great, got to hear our little love's heartbeat. Always a glorious sound. AND she has had some strong kicks that make me gasp! i love it!!
Miss Anything? May sound odd, but I miss a good sweat sesh. Walking and Yoga are nice and relaxing, but I miss doing some Insanity or the feeling after a hard run (even the soreness afterward). le sigh
Movement: Oh yes, she kicked so hard it woke me up from a half sleep slumber. it was hilarious. it's my absolute favorite thing about pregnancy (the list is endless right?)
Food cravings: this week has been pizza (specifically from Boombozz) and I am loving grape tomatoes and grilled cheese sandwiches. Sweets took a backseat..
Anything making you queasy or sick: I think I'm back to being somewhat lactose intolerant, nooo! Icecream hasn't been sitting well (maybe it's a sign. haha) and just smelling food being cooked (it's weird!)
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Still feeling great for the most part. Swelling SUCKS (still have 3 months-ish, help!). This belly is becoming a heavy load, so i rest a lot more often than I'm used to. Oh, and yesterday I woke up feeling exhausted for no apparent reason.
Wedding rings on or off? off, it still fits....but I don't wanna chance it!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, mostly. Got emotional the other day, way outta left field. Oh, hormones
Looking forward to: More strong kicks from baby girl, so daddy can feel. Ohhhh and a pedicure tomorrow! Hopefully my nail lady doesn't get scared of my mini sausages.

This week was way busy! We did some major cleaning and got rid of stuff we have been hoarding for no reason (i MIGHT use that one day! haha).  Ended up filling the bin at Goodwill and properly organizing our garage.  We have a guest bedroom again, woo! Bought a new bed and moved Roxy's kennel to the den/office.  Once we put all the bedding on, Riley jumped on it and looked at us like "Thanks Mom & Dad!"  Hahaha, it was tooo cute.  Lord knows a queen size is perfect for all 150lbs of lean Dane Lady that she is.  She is a riot.
We went bowling with the family on Wednesday as a belated Father's Day for Papa Chris, it was good times (especially because we ate Boombozz pizza after! FTW) Oh yeah, I also met up with Stacie, (went to Jr/High School together) who owns a Kid's Clothing/Goods Boutique: Lil Lainey Bug and bought the material to make some awesome baby room shtuff.  She will be making custom bedding(sheets, quilt, bed skirt) and window valance for the baby room. I CANNOT wait to see it! Man, it was a crazy week. It just feels like the weeks are flying by! Which is great, because AZ summers are torturous when you're pregnant AND most importantly it means we will get to meet our little love very soon.  Even though I still have a "To Do List" to attend to, Rob and I are so anxious and ready for her to be here. Our little family is going to have so much fun!

Speaking of fun, Rob's hard work is paying off at his job {infusionsoft} and they announced the dates and destination for their annual President's Club trip.  Even though they haven't announced who has qualified to go, Rob has been over-exceeding his quota and we are confident he will qualify. It will be at The Westin Casuarina Resort & Spa, Grand Cayman!  Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! So, our Sofia Rose will be getting her first passport fairly soon after she arrives and will take her first vacation before she is 6 months old. Can you say SPOILED?! haha  The trip is beginning of February, and mama will need to be beach body ready by then too! Hehe.  Trip or not, I can't even begin to express how proud I am to be Rob's wife.  He has truly stepped up to the plate to provide for our family.  It's been an honor to watch him grow into the responsible, loving, and amazing man that he is. How did I get so lucky? le sigh

Mmk, well I think that will do it for this post. I should probably start working on that "To Do List" ;)

Until next time,

Lex!

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” ~Victor Hugo

Oh, music. ♫

Last week we had to get our AC fixed and checked into the Cuervo Resort & Spa for a few nights (aka Nick & Michelle's casa).  On our 2nd night there,Thursday, Rob decided to play some classical music on Pandora and put it on my belly.  As I mentioned last post, he has only felt our baby girl kick 3, maybe 4 times.  After 2 songs, baby Sofia starts kicking like crazy! {Song name: String Quartet No.1 by Shostakovich Quartet} Not just 1 or 2 kicks, but a medley of movement.  At one point, she left her foot(or hand, or whatever body part) sticking out. He said "Aww, she's holding my hand!".  It was by far, one of the best memories we have made so far on this incredible journey.  It's adorable that she already has her daddy's taste in music. ;)

This weekend, we also hung up some neat signs I made for her name.

I was really excited about this DIY project, and pretty dang impressed with my skills.  What did women do without Pinterest "back in the day"?!? I saw a picture on Pinterest and remembered my friend Kindra had done something similar last year, so we put our heads together and had a fun craft day.
◊ 5 blank canvases: $7.50 (thank you Michael's coupon)
◊ 5 different scrapbook pages: $3
◊ 5 wooden letters: $7.50 (Hobby Lobby half off on wood!)
◊ 3 rolls of silver ribbon: $6
Just under $25 for wall name hangings. ::dusting off shoulders:::thank you very much! hehe
I am also LOVING the tree decal we found at Target for $15.  Bre offered to have her grandma paint a mural on the wall for us, but we are waiting until we buy our next home in about a year-ish time.  It'll be fabulous!

It was also Father's Day this weekend, yay!  Rob has been working really hard and I told him he should treat himself to a Mac desktop that he has been wanting for sometime now.  But, of course, he wants the latest and the greatest and is willing to wait until a newer model rolls out.  We went over to my parents on Sunday afternoon and had a good time.  Played some card game name "Mau" that John taught us.  Rob and my dad watched the NBA finals game after giving up on the crazy card game (don't blame them! hehe)
I figured it was time to do another belly shot.  It's a pretty big deal, since I actually did my hair and makeup and wore something besides my gym shorts. While I waited for Rob to finish playing Diablo, I surprised him with this Father's Day shoutout from our little peanut. Yup, I wrote it upside down, ALL by myself.  (i see a trend lately of being easily impressed with myself...haha oops!)  After shooting some of the "undead" and reaching a "check-point", he saw my belly and had a huge grin on his face.  Can't believe we are 24 weeks into this pregnancy, it's starting to go by quickly.  I want to do my best to document all these moments.  In fact, I might start detailing a little more of the actual pregnancy.  Found this girl's blog from, where else; Pinterest!  Aaand I would have started earlier, had I not been chained to my bed by the nausea monster.  I think this is a great idea, especially once we are ready for baby #2 (definitely in a few years) I can look back on this and remember what it was like (since it seems all moms tend to forget some of the smaller details)
How far along? 24 Weeks
Baby is the size of: an ear of corn (12.5 in and 1.25 lbs!)
Total weight gain: up 25 lbs (yikes!)
Maternity clothes? oh yes. found cute maternity shorts at Ross for $15 that are my fave. oh, and can't go wrong with summer dresses ;)
Stretch marks? none as of yet
Sleep: I get a good 10 hours of sleep. body pillow is my BFF (thanks Bre&Jason!) aaaand I'm starting to take 2 potty breaks vs 1.
Best moment this week: Gonna steal end of last week's: when Rob got to feel lotsa movement while playing his classical shtuff
Miss Anything? today I really had this urge to just lay on my belly, and i realized how much I miss that! (belly/side sleeper).
Movement: yes, yes, yes. it's the most amazing feeling.
Food cravings: sweets, and more sweets. mmm drumsticks. and dipped cones. and cookies'n'cream icecream. oh dear, i need help!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Chipotle makes me sick :( and just being in a kitchen with strong cooking smells (especially grilled bell peppers or onions). oh, and donuts. taste good, but don't settle well (as if I need to eat a donut)
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Overall, I feel great. Some days I get SUPER tired. I get back aches pretty easily, nothing a good heating pad or a massage from the hubby can't help cure ;) Yesterday, my hands and feet got a little swollen from the heat.
Belly Button in or out? in, but it looks funny! hehe
Wedding rings on or off? on, unless I was out in 100°+ weather and I swelled a little (just yesterday)
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Getting back into Yoga, consistently.  Tanicka and I are doing it together to prepare for an au natural birth. 16 weeks to get ready!

Yes, you heard correctly...my goal is do this birth thingy-majig med-free.  I'll be signing off to take the epidural if it becomes absolutely necessary, but I really, really, REALLY wanna try and do this the way nature intended.  Please pray for me! Hehe :D

Welp, doggies are getting a bit hungry...so off I go.

Until next time.  You stay classy, Arizona...and thanks for stopping by!

Big Gulps huh?

Welp, I opened this account God-knows-when and kiiiinda dropped the ball. Now that Rob and I are expecting our first child, I thought it would be a good opportunity to drop a few bread crumbs here and there.

Today we were lucky enough to see our baby girl on the screen (not Hollywood...yet. it was an ultrasound. hehe) and she is growing so fast! Can't believe we will see our little love in 4 months! (give or take)  Today I am 23 weeks and 1 day along, and it seems like it has passed us by quickly. Even the 94 days of all day sickness seems like a distant memory, thank you mother nature. ;)  I'm officially in nesting mode, woo! We totally scored at Hobby Lobby this weekend and got room decor that we love at 50% off. Boom.  Here is a preview:

I'm going for a Shabby Chic/ Vintage Paris Theme (probably should choose one name or the other, ha) I've never been more excited to decorate, and am damn sure this baby room is going to be the nicest room in the house.  Kinda makes me wanna redecorate our kitchen and bedroom (though, this may be the 'nesting' speaking)

Back to the U/S, our friend Pamela is a tech and was gracious enough to let us come in and get some good shots.  Our Sofia Rose was being such a goof! (coulda been the few sips of Coke Zero I drank to get the ball rollin': no judgment!) She already has formed some habits. 1. She likes to face my spine. Soooo it's challenging to get a face shot AND it explains why Rob has only felt her "kick" (or as i said, back that booty up) on 4 occasions. 2. When we do get a shot of her face, she always has her hand(s) up there. She was playing peek-a-boo and rubbing her eyes today. She even gave a mini fist pump (probably a shout out to Snookie's little one on the way) and 3. She always has her legs crossed (just as I did, when I was in the womb)  I think it's crazy to think about her having her own personality already, but it's SO true.  In fact, when I get up for my 3 a.m. potty break every night... she thinks it means it's dance party time. I love every second of it. As uncomfortable it is being pregnant(that's a WHOLE other post),  I already know I'm gonna miss her kicking, swimming, and dancing around in my belly. le sigh

Mmk, gotta save some shtuff for future blogs. Karlie is staying the night and watching Scooby Doo. Here's to hoping my body pillow protects me from her spread eagle-horizontal-kickyouintheface sleeping habits.  Auntie loves you Kar!

Until next time,

Lex
