Schnepf Farms and shtuff!

The weekends seem to go by way too quick, as usual. Hmmph!  But, it just means we are busy having fun! Last weekend Rob was actually excited to *finally* catch up on yard work and he re-seeded the grass and planted some hibuscus.  We also worked on tidying up the office/den (always a work in progress) and had some fun along the way.  Saturday was pretty perfect (in our eyes).  All 3 of us slept in until almost 8 (yes, this is sleeping in!) and lounged around until Schnepf Farms.  I love making new memories with our little family!  Sofie insisted on walking/running around all over and exploring.
"Daddy, I'm a big girl...I got this!"
She really liked playing with hay and touching the dirt/rocks.  Can NOT wait until she is over the whole "ooh-let's-put-this-in-my-mouth" stage, sheesh.
Pumpkin!

Singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" for the umpteenth time
We went on a train ride, woo hoo!  She was just soaking it all in and even reached her hand out to try and touch the passing leaves/shrubbery.  Silly little lady, just love her.
Daddy's girl! xoxo

Right before the train ride!

Trying to touch the passing tree.
Pumpkin patch time!

Very curious little monkey.
As much as I live in the moment, I can't help but be even more excited for what's to come once she is old enough to understand or enjoy certain things.  For now, I will soak up having her be this little.

Last week was a little crazy, in addition to our "usual routine" of gym, dance, library, play dates, and normal errands/house duties; I'm excited to announce that I have a part time job working from home. Jason (one of our best friends & my twinsie!) approached me with an opportunity to make some extra cash doing some sales admin/order processing/misc shtuff for his company, Insider.  Why not, right?  Though I am extremely blessed and grateful that we can afford to have me stay home with our munchkin, I simply couldn't turn it down.  We'll be able to pay off our truck quicker and save up, maybe have some play money ;)

This weekend has been pretty awesome too.  It was the first weekend we didn't have anything planned since we have moved! It's been pure craziness since we bought our house in August, so it's been a treat to wind down and not have an agenda. The office/den is coming together nicely. It moved up on my priority list now that it will be my work area. I'm sucha nerd for office shtuff.  Damn you Lisa Frank! Hahaha

Time to enjoy the rest of our Sunday Funday!

Princess Sofia The First themed Party!

Me oh my, go BIG or go home right?  We had an AMAZING turn out @ our baby girl's 1st birfday celebration!  I'm glad the weather was nice, or else I don't think we could have fit that many peeps, hehe.  I am forever grateful to everyone that pitched in, I could not have pulled this off without some of our friends & families pitching in. Seriously, thank you SO much!
Got to use the welcome sign Rob & I made for the adorable tulle wreath that my BFF Monica helped make.

Dessert table waiting on a few treats. My BFF Monica made the banner.

Monthly pictures to compare, so crazy how fast they grow!
The "chalkboard" with stats using this tutorial

Amazing cake made by my brother Army & his gf Vibi.  They seriously need to open a bakery!

Super cute/delish cake pops made by my SIL Amanda.

Older cousins & friends.  Totally gonna be Sof in 5-6 years ;)
BFF Bre took an awesome pic! Bubble machine was a hit with the little ones.
Bouncy house time!
Starting to like the texture of grass, phew!
Singing "Happy Birthday!" I made her a funfetti *big* cupcake with vanilla frosting & sprinkles!
Yum!
Tata brought the piñata, woo hoo!
All the kiddies were anxious to have their go
Time to open presents!
Miss On The Go was not that interested in sitting still to open presents for too long, haha.

Rob found this adorable Lalaloopsy play house on craig's list. #winning It even has a doorbell, so dang cute!

We got down on some carne asada, sonoran hot dogs, rice, macaroni salad & other goodies. Keg of dos equis to keep the men happy ;) Bouncy house for everyone to enjoy, bubble machine for the little babes, and a piñata *of course*  It was sooo much fun and so great to see a lot of our family and friends.   Sofie had fun partying and being passed around, she woke up half an hour after peeps arrived(12:30) and didn't go to bed til almost 8.  She is such an independent baby, we are so lucky!  This was one of those whirlwind days (like our wedding and the day she was born) that was a blast, but went by so quickly!  Thanks to everyone that took pics for me, I was busy trying to be the hostess with the mostest. Now it's time to get back to real life and get ready for Halloween, yay! I've already decided what Sofie will be and plan to piece together a super cute costume.  We are also going to Schnepf Farms this weekend, yay!

I have a feeling I will be posting a lot more often now, love this time of the year!

1 year birfday pics & more!

Here are some of my absolute faves of Sofie in her birthday tutu made by Chunky Monkey Creations during our photoshoot with Monique!

Of course there is always a funny memory or two that we make.  I kid you not, but Sofie was not having any of this photo shoot business. She was actually yelling and sometimes crying during most of these pics, but she looks so happy.  We couldn't help but laugh, hehe. Gotta love separation anxiety mixed with a sleepy baby.  Miss Early Bird decided to wake up around 5 am, so once 9am rolled around...'nuff said!  Nevertheless, we made the best of it and the pictures came out adorable *of course*

Here are some other good ones from the monthly photo shoot I do at home.
Back molars comin in, yowza!

Yay!

My OCD, Type-A self will shamelessly admit that I took these pics the day before her actual birthday, eek...I just knew I would be too busy partyin' with my #1 girl to be bothered, haha.  Here she is on the day of her birthday
We had a great day.  After her 1 year check up (with 3 shots, yuck!), Chey came by to visit and give her a birthday gift and a hair cut.  It turned out super cute!  Thanks again Chey!
Doctor's office
Then Jace came over for a few hours.  It's so cute how he is super shy at first, but finally comes around.  I bribed him with toys. He played really well with his "Sosie"
Once Rob got off work, I went and picked up some take out (J&K Chinese is the best).  I also picked up a few cupcakes for the 3 of us to celebrate. It was pumpkin with cream cheese frosting,  I think she liked it!
Now that all the crazy birthday shtuff is done, I really wanted to take some time to document some stats on Little Miss Independent.

Nicknames: Sofie, Sof, Bubba, Little Miss, Babes, Little Love, Monkey, Miss Independent, Baby Love, Baby Girl, Super Baby

I can't wait to see what's in store for us in this next year.  Miss Independent is on the go and there are no signs of slowing down, we are just along for the ride!

October is definitely one of the busiest months for us.  The weekend before last, we celebrated Rob's 29th birfday. Yikes!  Hehe.  He took Friday off & we went to the Zoo.  It was our first time as a family, hehe.  Little Miss wasn't all that interested in the animals, so we decided to go to the splash pad.  She sure loves doing that! We got a lot of "Omg, she is so tiny and is already walking?!"  or "How old is she???" Hehe. Super Baby, duh ;)

Then we came home and got ready for date night @ Ruth's Chris, yum!
Saturday I *kinda* surprised Rob with a day date to the shooting range.  Really glad Nick came with us to help show us how to use Rob's new gun.  It was my first time and it was a little scary, but I got over the jitters after awhile.  In fact, Rob says I have a better shot ;)
A huge thanks to all the grandparents that help with babysitting, especially lately.  We are so appreciative and grateful!  What a blessing it is to be near family.
We wrapped up the weekend with what else: football!  Had a little potluck with some friends & family.  I also asked the Cards to win and they did.  You're welcome AZ fans! Haha
My birthday babies!
Here are some other random pics, I will be posting again soon once I gather birthday party pictures.
